Zone bowling
The Richmond Lions club raised $1955.00 towards the kids help line. We want to thank chairman Lion John Z for organizing this and also raising the most money.
There was a certain look on our faces when Lion Iain showed up wearing a bowling shirt and Lions John, Alex, Andrew, Doug, and myself thought this guy was going to kick our ass in bowling.
At the end of the event Lion Iain was known as one pin Iain which means he went 9 pin bowling.
I think Lion Doug showed us all up, Lions Andrew & Iain won the hardest throwing contest and Alex, Karrie and myself made the balls go down the alley.
Dinner & drinks followed at BIG River Brewing Company.
For all the Lions that donated money to this cause - THANK-YOU. A a few members fundraising and having fun can do allot of good in the community.
Bravo!
Belt Sander Drag Races
The Belt Sander Drag Race was a popular and entertaining event that the Richmond Lions organized with the support of several local sponsors. Unfortunately, organizing and manning race events was a huge undertaking for a small club and with only minimal returns through donations. As a club we determined we could not maintain the event and for the time being it has been put aside.
The information on this page represents a historical look at a fun event.
Richmond Chinatown Visit
ZC Andrew receives a Richmond Chinatown banner from President Lucy
On Tuesday November 16 2010, several members of the Richmond Lions club paid a visit to the Richmond Chinatown Lions club to support our club member and this years H-4 Zone Chair, Lion Andrew MacFadyen.
At 7:30 pm Lions Vince and Dale Isely, John Zanatta, Mel Frith, Alex Hadden, Randy Scherk, Bob Everson, and Iain Miller descended upon the Richmond Chinatown meeting at the Shiang Restaurant.
We were greeted most graciously and enjoyed the visit, the new friends and the great food.
President Lucy offered a two minute get to know your guest at which time her club members had to get up and introduce their guest. A most interesting way to get to know the persons you are seated next to.

Lions Day Recognition
Dear Fellow Lions:
On March 16, our Lions clubs in Richmond have received the Lions Day Proclamation from the hand of Mayor of Richmond. This event was chaired by Lion Lucy Quinn and Lion Martin Yeung of Richmond Chinatown. I want to thank them for all the hard work in putting this event together and making it go smooth all the way. Also, my special thanks to Mayor Malcolm, the staff of the Richmond City Hall without their assistance, we will not have such a memorable day.
It is the recognition from the City of Richmond to the six Lions Clubs in Richmond in serving the communities for the past years. Actually, we have tried to request the Cities of Delta and White Rock, unfortunately, these cities don't proclaim this due to their by-laws. I am sending the Proclamation and pictures to you so that you can share some of the excitment with us.
Once again, my appreciation to all the Lions members who participated in this important event to make it a successful one and continusously serving the communities.
YIL,ZC Belinda Wu
