I'll say it again.
    Join our Club!

Why?

Because YOU could make the difference in somebody's life. Somebody . . . who lives in your community, somebody . . . who lives just down the street from you, somebody . . . who needs help but has slipped between the cracks of life.

It doesn't take a big commitment. Just a couple hours a week (it's not a career!).

Maybe you're already making a difference - on your own. Imagine if you could multiply your efforts by the size of this club.

Join us.
Make a difference.

2015 BEST IN SHOW

BEST IN SHOW – 2015 SOCKEYE RUN

BestInShow-1Best in Show”- winner at the 2015 Sockeye Run Car Show in Steveston, was the 1957 Chev Pickup owned by Jerry Hickey of Surrey. It was the first time Jerry showed this truck as he only purchased it in May, 2015, from the previous owner in Montreal.

The truck was extensively modified and painted beautifully in two contrasting colours of paint with original graphics in between the colours. The pickup bed tilts with hydraulics and the hood tilts forward. The engine is a 350 cu. in., 400 horsepower, well chromed Chev engine. The transmission is a turbo 400 and the rear end is a 9 inch Ford. The front suspension is a Mustang 2 system and the front wheels now stop with modern disc brakes.

The interior is gorgeous in both style and finish and won best interior at the 2015 Sockeye Run. The interior includes an Alpine sterio system, DVD player, an attractive overhead console, power windows and many other modifications.

The previous owner spent five years building the truck. He also had a 1932 Ford Coupe. With only the space in his shop for one vehicle and money needed to finish the hot rod, the truck was put up for sale and Jerry became the lucky new owner.

Jerry loves his older Chevy pickups. He built two 1955 Chevs and a 1946 Chev previously. After the Sockeye Run Car Show in June of last year, Jerry showed the pickup nine more times in the summer and won awards in seven of them.BestInShow-2

Due to the quality of workmanship and its colourful appearance Jerry’s truck is featured on the Sockeye Run Poster this year. The Richmond Lions Club hope to see Jerry back again at the Sockeye Run in 2016.
